Clamshell Quilt Guild was organized in 1989 to bring together people interested in:

  • Preserving the art of quilting
  • Learning new methods of quilting
  • Sharing expertise among the members
  • Meeting and making friends with other quilters

Our members come from eastern Connecticut and southern Rhode Island. Members arrive at 6:00 PM and the meeting begins at 6:30 on the second Wednesday of each month at the Waterford Community Center, 24 Rope Ferry Road, Waterford, CT.

The August monthly meeting will be held August 11 at the Waterford Community Center; doors are open by 6pm and the meeting will start at 6:30. A potluck picnic will be held. Shirlee Fassell will present a Crazy Quilt lecture and trunk show.

Clamshell members are welcome to come to open sewing on the first Monday afternoon of the month at the East Lyme Senior Center from 1pm - 5pm, and on the last Tuesday afternoon of the month at the East Lyme Senior Center from 5pm - 10pm.

The American Quilt Study Group (AQSG), a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history of quilts and quiltmaking, invites you to join their 30th birthday celebration by participating in a nationwide block challenge called “30s for 30.” Click here for details.
